Mary Eudell Norton, of Covington, died December 31, 2009, at Abbey Hospice, at the age of 92. Born in Jasper County to the late Bryant L. and Erma Allen Jeffries, she was a member of Julia A. Porter Methodist Church and Salem United Methodist Church. Mrs. Norton enjoyed traveling with her family, and was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Norton and brother, Blackie Jeffries. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Maxine and Bud Northcutt, Dianne and Larry Wagner, and Gail Alexander all of Covington; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Judy Moore of Gallatin, TN; step-son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Gayle Norton of Covington; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Daisey Jeffries of Covington; several nieces. Funeral services for Mrs. Norton will be held on Saturday, December 2, 4:00 PM, at the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, with Pastor Gary Thompson officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
