Martille T. Floyd, a lifelong resident of Newton County, passed away December 7, 2015, at the age of 95. Mrs. Floyd retired from Bibb Manufacturing Company after 37 years of dedicated employment. Following her retirement, she continued working 11 years at Covington Moulding. Mrs. Floyd faithfully attended Porterdale Baptist Church. She loved her family dearly, and cherished the time they spent together. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Floyd; parents, Carl and Jettie (Moon) Thomas; and her sister, Geneva Garrett.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia D. Floyd of Norcross; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Kay Floyd; grandchildren, Robbie and Marcy Floyd, Greg and Susan Floyd, Lane and Erin Floyd; great-grandchildren, Mary Ruth Davis, Sandy Davis, Alyssa Floyd, Ansley Floyd, Harrison Floyd, Jesse Wade and wife, Sarah; and her great-great-grandchildren, Logan Wade and Isla Grace Wade.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Floyd were held Wednesday, December 9, 2015, 2 p.m., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Dickie Johnson officiating and interment followed in Lawnwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Porterdale Baptist Church, P.O. Box 637, Porterdale, GA 30070.
