Mrs. Louise Shropshire, 89, of Covington passed away Dec. 4, at the age of 89. Mrs. Shropshire was considered a good friend by many people. She cherished her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Glynn Shropshire, grandson Jeffrey Scott Patterson, and her parents, David and Emma Lois Thomason.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Charlie Thompson of Covington and Judy and Dan Hatch of Trussville, Ala.; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Judy Shropshire of Covington; grandchildren and their spouses, Kevin and JoAnn Thompson, Kelly and Jeff Smith, Greg and Renee Patterson, Michael and Kathy Shropshire, Natalie and Allen Martin, and Shannon and Jody Sorrows, all of Covington, Laurie Flow of Lula; great-grandchildren Chelsea Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Emily Thompson, Christian Smith, William Smith, Lauren Patterson, Claire Patterson, Sophie Patterson, Tanner Martin, Luke Ledford, Roman Flow and Brantley Sorrows.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shropshire will be at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 6, in the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Pastor Phil Budensiek and Pastor Brian Wardlow officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Wesley Berg, aged 67, of Newborn, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He was born on March 6, 1958, in Atlanta. Mr. Berg grew up in Decatur and graduated from Shamrock High School. He was a dedicated Christian who had a passion for mission work and helping others, frequently traveling to disaster-stricken areas to assist those in need. Mr. Berg was a committed member of Centennial Baptist Church. As a hardworking individual, he owned and operated Berg Heating and Air.

He was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Margine Tribble, and his stepsister, Lynn Daniel. Mr. Berg is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dawn Berg; his siblings, Vincent Berg, Judy Berg, Katherine Berg, Karen Berg, and Krysten Berg; his stepbrother, Bobby Tribble, and Carol Schneider; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members, and many close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2025, at Centennial Baptist Church, 5321 Brownwood Rd, Rutledge, GA 30663, with Reverend Terry Richardson and Reverend Wilburn Hill officiating.
