Lois Elaine Fortner Holloway, 58, of Monticello, died May 27, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon.
Mrs. Holloway was born in Savannah, the daughter of the late Herbert Fortner and Annie Dorothy Rigdon Fortner.
She attended Harvest Baptist Church. She was a talented cook, seamstress and decorator, and she had a great sense of humor.
Before retirement, she was a dispatcher for Snapping Shoals EMC. She was preceded in death by husband Michael Lawrence Holloway Sr. and sister Betty Carol Fortner.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Julie and Donny Hopkins of Mansfield; son Madison Bird of Covington; grandchildren Joshua Eli Hopkins, Hudson Bird, and Cason Bird; mother Lois Fortner of Savannah; brothers and sister Michael Fortner, Robin Myers, Doug Tyson, and Craig Tyson of Savannah; step-children Michael L. “Sonny” Holloway Jr. of Locust Grove, Tina Williamson, Jennifer Brown, and Jeff Holloway of Monticello; a number of step-grandchildren; and special friends in Christ Liz Green and Pat Freeman of Monticello.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment will be held in West View Cemetery in Monticello. The Rev. Richard Culpepper will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Nelson Jr., Billy Ozburn, Johnny Freeman, Michael L. “Sonny” Holloway Jr., Mike Tyler and George Goodman. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Jordan Funeral Home.
