Lloyd Milas “Bo” Lyda, 26, of Oxford, passed away March 22. He was a 2005 graduate of Newton County High School and attended Georgia Perimeter College after he graduated. He enjoyed fishing, singing and performing in plays. His favorite music was country. He loved animals, especially cats.
He was a house sitter and cared for animals while doing his job. He was beloved by the Oxford College faculty by providing this service for them.
Survivors include his parents Lloyd M. and Amanda I. Lyda of Oxford; brothers Robbie Lyda of Webster, Fla., Jimmy Lyda of Covington; grandfather Milas H. Irwin also of Covington; aunts and uncles Evelyn Trimble, Andy and Kathleen Irwin, Sally and Ray McFolling; cousins Liam Irwin and Morgan Casale, all of Covington; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Bo will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Covington First United Methodist Church, 1113 Conyers Street, with Rev. Dr. Douglas Gilreath and Rev. Dr. Royeese Stowe officiating, and interment following in Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, tomorrow, March 25, from 5 to 9 p.m.
