A time to be born: Our beloved Linda Jean Battle, affectionately known as Jean to all, was born April 29, 1950.

A time to serve: Jean accepted Christ at an early age at Friendship Baptist Church in Crawfordville. She continued to serve the Lord by attending Bethel Grove Baptist Church in Mansfield with her cousin Annie Nell Smith and Early Hope Baptist Church in Covington with her daughter.

A time for accomplishment: She was educated at Taliaferro County High School in Crawfordville. Jean wrote inspirational poems and short stories n her spare time.

A time to love: Jean loved all of God's creatures but had a special fondness for dogs and cats. Above all, she loved her family and spent the majority of her time supporting her daughters and grandchildren. She loved to cook her signature dishes cornbread dressing, potato salad and mac and cheese every holiday.

A time to die: On July 18, 2018, she quietly departed this earthly life to be with our Heavenly father.

A time to mourn: Jean leaves behind many friends and family members to cherish her memory: daughters, Yolanda Battle Porter (Roechesta), Covington; Kimberly Leidgerwood (Brett), Lilburn; and Grandchildren, Bradford Porter (Covington), Jayla Porter (Covington) , Bryce Leidgertwood (Lilburn) , Braden Leidgertwood (Lilburn). She also leaves a host of cousins and friends.
