Lillie Belle McDaniel of Monroe, passed away June 7, 2011, at the age of 91. Mrs. McDaniel was a member of Alcovy United Methodist Church, where she served as a greeter, and was also an active member of the Priceless Antiques. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and entertaining her friends and family. Mrs. McDaniel was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Mrs. McDaniel was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Harry Howell McDaniel; and her parents, Marvin and Dora Hannah (Balcom) Speer.

 

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara V. and Bobby Ward of Bogart, Brenda and Neil Mason of Covington; grandchildren, Shane and Lisa Ward of Watkinsville, Cheryl Ward Brown of Athens, Daryl and Rhonda Mason of Roswell, Carole and Tommy Thomas of Covington; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great- grandchildren; sister-in-law, Connie McDaniel Graves; brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Lil McDaniel, Jody and Donna McDaniel, all of Covington; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Rascal.

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. McDaniel will be held Friday, June 10, 2011, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, with Rev. Teresa Lilja and her devoted nephew, Jerry Wilson officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, June 9, from 5-8 PM.
