Kathleen Y. Wales of Covington, passed away May 23, 2010, at the age of 55. She was a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd, in Covington. Ms. Wales was previously employed by both Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Southern Regional Healthcare. Ms. Wales was a member of the Heartland Women’s Club and enjoyed scuba diving in her free time. She was a loving sister, daughter and mother. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mark Guenther and Kristen Shaw of Covington; mother, Patricia Slaughter; sister, Patricia Bennett, both of Ontario, Canada; brother and sister-in-law, David and Barbara Slaughter of Ohio; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of Canada; best friend, Debby Vanderbunt. A Memorial Service for Ms. Wales will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2010, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Father Timothy Graham officiating. the family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. The family would like to invite friends to visit and share memories at a light luncheon immediately following the service.
