John Frank Chriswell of Covington, died March 27, 2009, at the age of 77. Mr. Chriswell was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He retired from Harper Transport as a truck driver. He enjoyed working on motorcycles, building drag bikes, motocross, and attending races with his family. Mr. Chriswell loved spending time with his family, as well as fishing, traveling, and gambling. He had a passion for “rescuing” people, and giving them a place to stay if needed. Mr. Chriswell was preceded in death by his wife, Teiko Maezawa Chriswell; sons, John Marion Chriswell, Michael Lewis Chriswell; parents, John Marion and Suzie Mae Chriswell; and sister, Betty Ford. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Keith Dingler; sons and daughter-in-law, Ronnie Joe Chriswell, Sandy J. and Leslie Chriswell of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jake, and Josh Chriswell, Ashley and Ryan Chriswell, Cassie Doss, Logan Chriswell, David and Melissa Dingler; great-grandchildren, Baileigh and Ryland Doss; sisters and brother-in-law, Sara and Bobby Guthrie of Loganville, Hazel Short; brother and sister-in-law, Lon and Connie Criswell; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. Funeral Services for Mr. Chriswell will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2009, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Rd., with Rev. Gary Thompson officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, March 31, 5-8 PM. Mr. Wesley Berg, aged 67, of Newborn, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He was born on March 6, 1958, in Atlanta. Mr. Berg grew up in Decatur and graduated from Shamrock High School. He was a dedicated Christian who had a passion for mission work and helping others, frequently traveling to disaster-stricken areas to assist those in need. Mr. Berg was a committed member of Centennial Baptist Church. As a hardworking individual, he owned and operated Berg Heating and Air.

He was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Margine Tribble, and his stepsister, Lynn Daniel. Mr. Berg is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dawn Berg; his siblings, Vincent Berg, Judy Berg, Katherine Berg, Karen Berg, and Krysten Berg; his stepbrother, Bobby Tribble, and Carol Schneider; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members, and many close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2025, at Centennial Baptist Church, 5321 Brownwood Rd, Rutledge, GA 30663, with Reverend Terry Richardson and Reverend Wilburn Hill officiating.
