September 13, 1936 – January 31, 2015

Janice Hersom, 78 of Albany, passed away Saturday at the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House.

Janice was born in Bedford, Massachusetts to Joseph and Irene Costa. She grew up in Boston and eventually went to work for Lockheed Martin Corporation. Janice spent 30 years there as an inspector for nuclear submarine weaponry. She also spent time in the outdoors; hunting, fishing, and camping. Janice loved animals, especially horses.

She is survived by her son, Dana Hersom and his wife Anne of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Ernest Costa; sister, Carol Morrissey; and grandchildren, Ian, Nathan, and Benjamin Hersom.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 6 at 1:30 p.m. at Brookdale of Albany, Oregon. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association may be sent in care of Fisher Funeral Home, 306 Washington St. SW, Albany, OR 97321.
