James Daryl Ford, age 59, of Mansfield, passed away after a two-and-one-half year battle with cancer.

Jim Ford was born in Chamblee, Ga., to Evelyn Shuttleworth Ford and the late James Walter Ford. He lived in Jasper County and was a member of New Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Mansfield. He was a self-employed painter.

He is survived by his mother, two brothers, and one sister. He is also survived by his adopted family, who loved and cared for him 12 years: Debra and Kevin Glaze; Melinda and Brayden Lewis; Blake, Sabrina and Bentley Malcolm; Edwin and Alicia Allen; Eric, Melissa and Owen McCarthy; Hilda Vaughn; Kyle and Jalene Allen; Lyle and Carroll Allen; Lynn and Scott Allen; and many friends, including Lynn Hudgins, and Dana and William Biddy.

The list of friends could go on and on, because Jim never met a stranger and everyone loved him.
