James D. Smith of Covington, died June 17, 2009, at the age of 29. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baby-sitting, camping, and spending time outdoors. He was also a big fan of Nascar racing. Survivors include his fiancé, Joanna DeFoor; sons, Noah, Jordan; parents, Michael D. and Earlene Miller Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law, Heidi and Brian Swafford of Greenville, SC, Amy and Greg Hardy of Auburn, GA, Audrey and David Leitner of Conyers, Andrea Smith of Covington; 4 nieces and 4 nephews. Funeral Services for James were held Saturday, June 20, 2009, 11 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Rd., with Rev. Nolan Jackson officiating, and interment followed in Fairview Memorial Gardens, in Stockbridge. Donations may be made to Belmont Baptist Church, c/o Smith Fund, 3275 Iris Dr., Conyers, GA 30013.
