On April 25, 1950, Mr. James “Buck” Anderson, was born to the proud parents of late Mr. & Mrs. Robert (Nuna Bell) “Kitty” Anderson in Rutledge. James was one of 13 children.

Buck was raised and educated in Morgan County. He was married to Shirley Washington (Anderson). He was employed with the Dekalb County Sanitation Department. Buck enjoyed sitting around with friends, laughing and joking around.

On Nov. 23, 2017, Buck departed this earthly life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Nuna Bell) Anderson; siblings, Jetson, Robert, Jr., Thomas “T.C.” Cobb, George Anderson, Robert “Bobby” Anderson, Willie “Note” Stanford, Richard Anderson, Virginia Anderson and Mabelline Anderson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, David (Letisha) Durham; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Doris “Dot” Anderson; special friends, Eddie Head, Larry Bradley and Steve Bradley and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at noon Friday, Dec. 1 at Murray Memorial C.M.E. Church, at 4100 West St., in Covington, with the Rev. Bobby Hall and the Rev. Corey Anderson officiating.
