J. Roy Green, Jr., of Oxford, died December 13, 2009, at Abbey Hospice, at the age of 68. Son of the late Joe Roy Green, Sr. and Tavie Mae Fuller Green, he was a United States Army veteran and a residential construction painter for over 35 years. Mr. Green enjoyed the outdoors, especially throwing horseshoes and golfing. He also enjoyed listening to country music and fishing at Lake Sinclair and Lake Oconee. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Green. Survivors include his son, Mike Green of Oxford; step-daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Bobby Mills of Griffin, Claudia and Dwayne Weaver of Covington; step-son, Louis (Ray) Lingold, Jr. of Covington; grandchildren, Chelsey Mote, Brittany Mote, Ashley Stewart, Brad Mills, Garred Mills, Lindsay Mills Bailey, Gabrielle Weaver, Chaz Weaver; great-grandchildren, Austin Mills and Chandler Mills; brothers, Sydney Green and Larry Green both of Oxford; Mike’s mother, Shirley Pippin of Oxford; several nieces and nephews.
