Irene Burnett of Loganville, died at Riverside Healthcare in Covington, September 14, 2010, at the age of 88. Mrs. Burnett attended Jersey Baptist Church. She loved to sew and cross stitch baby blankets. Mrs. Burnett enjoyed being with her family and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fitz Burnett, and children, M.L. Knight, Carrie Bell Carter, and Robert Claude Burnett. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Daniel Peppers of Loganville; daughter-in-law, Joan Burnett Milford of Newborn; grandchildren, Brian Peppers, Tammy Callaway, Ann Mitchell, Paige Wells, Rudy Burnett, Rodney Burnett; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Owensby of Milledgeville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Burnett will be held Thursday, September 16, 2010, 2:00 PM, at the Access Road Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Danny Sorrells officiating and interment following in the Sewell Methodist Church Cemetery in Mansfield. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, September 15, from 6 – 9 PM.
