Helen Smith McPherson, 93, of McDonough, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018 at Abbey Hospice. She was born in Covington to the late Luther Sherman and Elizabeth Piper Smith. Helen was dedicated to serving the Lord and others. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Helen will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Cantrell, and daughter, Peggy Strong.

Helen is survived by her granddaughters, Sharon Kadas, Rebecca Daniel; great-granddaughter, Kimberly Hale; great-grandson, Harrison Daniel; great great-granddaughter, Charlie Hale, and sister, Joyce Wilborn.

Funeral Services for Miss Helen was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16 in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Vandy Pope officiating. Interment will follow the service at Kennesaw Memorial Park, 1306 Whitlock Ave., NW, Marietta, GA 30064. The family received friends Thursday, Nov. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle Church, 631 Ralph Road, Conyers, GA 30094. Guests may sign the online register at www.wheelerfuneralhome.com.
