Hazel Knight Dalton, a lifelong resident of Newton County, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at the age of 94. Mrs. Dalton was born May 9, 1925. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie T. and Adela Pearl (Walker) Knight; and siblings, Perry Knight, Luther Knight, Charlie Knight, Jr., Mildred Knight Lemonds, Kathryine Knight Garner.  

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Patsy and James “Buck” Smith, Barbara Dalton; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Betty Dalton, Wayne and Janice Dalton, Robert and Shelvie Dalton, Tony Dalton; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; as well as three great-great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Dalton was held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2019, at Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington, with the Rev. Nolan Jackson and Dr. Alan Posey officiating.
