Mrs. Grace W. Davis “Mrs. Grace”, age 80, of Covington formerly of Lithonia passed away November 2, 2015.  She was born in the Swords Community of Morgan County on November 6, 1934 to the late Herbert F. and Ella Ray Chaffin Waters.  Mrs. Davis was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Lithonia where she taught Sunday school for many years.  She owned and operated East DeKalb Daycare in Lithonia for 27 years.  Mrs. Davis loved to travel and spend time with her family.  She moved to the Benton House in Covington where she lived these last few years and was a champion bingo player.  Mrs. Davis was a loving caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Major Harold B. Davis in 2003 and her brother Gene Waters in 2005.  

Mrs. Davis is survived by her sons; Billy Davis of Conyers, Danny Davis of Shady Dale and Tommy and Mary Evelyn Davis of Covington her grandchildren; Jennifer and Brian Rodriquez, Leah Davis, Jeff Davis, Erica Davis, Chad Davis, Ashley and Parks McIntosh, Alex Davis, Amber Davis and Shelby Davis her great grandchildren; Ava Grace, Victor, Charlie Elizabeth and Davis Adalyn her sister and brother-in-law; Miriam and Duncan Feeney and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Cecille and Greg Cown along with a host of other family and close friends all of whom she loved dearly.  

Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be held at 11A.M. Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Covington with Dr. Jim Martin and Dr. Cody McNutt officiating.  Interment will follow at Swords Community Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 5P.M. until 8P.M. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015.  J.C.
