Ms. Georgia Ann Turner of Covington passed away on November 21, 2009 at Newton Medical Center at the age of 66. She was born on July 31, 1943 in Dekalb County to the late George A., Sr. and Julia Harralson Beam. Ms. Turner was employed for more than 25 years with the State of Georgia where she held positions in various departments including the Environmental Protection Division, Dept. of Natural Resources, and State Licensing Division. She was a dedicated and loyal member of the Church at Covington, and dearly loved her church family. She received an award for her volunteer work at Faith Works, and was known for her humor, always telling everyone she was 4foot 10 inches and a half. Having a green thumb, she loved flowers and enjoyed working in her yard. Ms. Turner is survived by her son, Brian Turner of Conyers; grandsons, Alan Turner and Austin Turner; brother and sister-in-law, George and Cheryl Beam of Covington; niece Christina Weeks of Covington, nephews Shane Beam of Newborn, G. W. Beam of Griffin, Tommy Beam of Lilburn; several great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral Services for Ms. Turner will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, 11:00 A.M., at The Church at Covington, with Pastor David Payne officiating and interment following in Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington on Monday, November 23, 2009 from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
