Frank Phillips, of Covington, died December 9, 2009, at Riverside Health Care Center, at the age of 81. Son of the late Arthur and Retta Turner Phillips, he was a member of Stewart Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and going to the mountains. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Lee Piper Phillips and son, Rickie Phillips. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Robert Headrick, Lynne and Ron Dishaw all of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Debra Phillips of Conyers, John and Sara Gower of Covington; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Johns of Florida; brother and sister-in-law, J. W. and Shirley Phillips of Monroe; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services for Mr. Phillips will be held on Friday, December 11, 4:00 PM, at the Access Road Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Jones officiating and interment following in Snapping Shoals Methodist Cemetery.
