Frances Ivey, of Social Circle, passed away August 13, 2015, at the age of 86. Mrs. Ivey was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church of Covington. She relished in a competitive game of bridge with the ladies from the Woman’s Club. Mrs. Ivey loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, this included her beloved cat “Boots”. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Ivey; daughter, Susan Gay; grandson, Brandon Gay; and mother, Marion Miller.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Joanne and Emil Caldwell, Fran Ivey Berger all of McDonough; son and daughter-in-law, David and Regina Ivey of Rex; grandchildren, Amanda McCullough, Jacqueline Batts, Joseph Caldwell, Joy Davila, Jennifer Berger, Ian Caldwell, Ashleigh Ivey; great-grandchildren, Bailey Blake, Caelyn Batts, Mason McCullough, Jace Caldwell, Carson Caldwell.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Ivey will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, 11 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 1169 Clark Street, Covington, GA 30014, with Rev. Dr. William B. Wade, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at 115 Willow Wood Road, in Social Circle, after the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to GFWC Service Guild of Covington, gafwcsg.org, or Pine Grove Woman’s Club of Covington, 76 Surrey Chase Drive, Social Circle, GA 30025.

Obituary: Wesley Berg

Mr. Wesley Berg, aged 67, of Newborn, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He was born on March 6, 1958, in Atlanta. Mr. Berg grew up in Decatur and graduated from Shamrock High School. He was a dedicated Christian who had a passion for mission work and helping others, frequently traveling to disaster-stricken areas to assist those in need. Mr. Berg was a committed member of Centennial Baptist Church. As a hardworking individual, he owned and operated Berg Heating and Air.

He was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Margine Tribble, and his stepsister, Lynn Daniel. Mr. Berg is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dawn Berg; his siblings, Vincent Berg, Judy Berg, Katherine Berg, Karen Berg, and Krysten Berg; his stepbrother, Bobby Tribble, and Carol Schneider; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members, and many close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2025, at Centennial Baptist Church, 5321 Brownwood Rd, Rutledge, GA 30663, with Reverend Terry Richardson and Reverend Wilburn Hill officiating.
