Mrs. Flora Loyd Copeland, age 88, a lifelong resident of the Covington and Conyers area passed away December 19, 2013. She was born in the Milstead community of Rockdale County to the late Martin and Pearl Coursey Taylor. Mrs. Copeland worked for Bibb Manufacturing for 40 years and was a school bus monitor in Rockdale County for 10 years. She was a great cook and loved to travel, especially traveling to gospel and country singings. Mrs. Copeland was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her first husband Edward Lanier Loyd, her second husband Darrell Copeland, her son and daughter –in-law Ricky and Lynn Loyd, her daughters Faye Womac and Linda Loyd Durden, her brother Arthur Taylor.
Mrs. Copeland is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Kenneth Reagan of Covington, her sons and daughter-in-law Joe and Judy Loyd of Covington and Jerry Lee Loyd of Conyers along with her 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Bruly and Jimmy Palmer of Conyers and a host of other family and close friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Copeland will be held at 3 o’clock Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Mr. Wayne Autry officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00pm until 3:00pm Sunday prior to the service. J.C.
