            Faye Carter, 59, of Covington, died Jan. 6. The daughter of the late Emmett and Beatrice McGiboney Carter, she was born in Fulton County. Ms. Carter was a longtime resident of Covington and attended The Church at Covington, She was a 1967 graduate of Newton High School and attended and graduated from Young Harris College and the University of Georgia. She taught at Sharp School and was a computer technician for Hewlett Packard Company.

            Surviving are sister and brother-in-law Diane and Doug Dickson of Covington; aunts and uncle Bid and Mildred McGiboney of Covington, Margaret Allen of East Point; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, other family and close friends.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Jan. 9, in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Pastor David Payne officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. today, Jan. 9, prior to the service. Friends may sing the on-line registry at www.wheelerfuneralhome.
