Evelyn Marie Jones of Covington, passed away May 5, 2011, at the age of 82. She graduated from Monticello High School. Mrs. Jones was a member of Red Oak United Methodist Church, in Covington. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Fred Julius Jones; parents, Charles Velma, Sr., and Elizabeth Pearl (Layson) Cunard; sisters, Marjorie Kersey, Sara Jones; daughter-in-law, Rita Gheesling Jones.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Julius Phillip and Ana Jones of Honokaa, HI, Robert Gregory Jones, James Samuel Jones of Covington; daughter, Jennifer Ann Jones of Covington; grandchildren, Rob and Kerry Jones of Covington, David and Joy Jones of Loganville, Mandi Jones of Covington, Sammy Jones, Joseph Jones, both of Atlanta, Jeffrey Jones of Covington; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Alex Jones of Covington; sisters, Joyce Melville of Covington, Carolyn Gilbert of Macon; brothers, Charles V. Cunard, Jr., of Midland, TX, Douglas Cunard of Macon; former daughter-in-law, Joanna Jones of Covington; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Jones will be held Thursday, May 12, 2011, 2:00 PM, at Red Oak United Methodist Church, with Rev. Miguel Velez-Andujar officiating, and interment following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, Wednesday, May 11, from 6-8 PM.
