Etta Young Clark of Covington, passed away August 17, 2011, at the age of 92. Mrs. Clark was an active member of both Covington Christian Church and New Covenant Community Church, in Covington. She was employed by Young's Super Foods, in Fort Valley, GA, for several years. She had her own personal card ministry that she sent to her family and friends. She enjoyed needlework, crocheting, and puzzles of any kind. Mrs. Clark always enjoyed crocheting and giving away afghans to special friends. She was preceded in death by her son, William (Billy) Clark; grandsons, Michael Clark and Hal Hobgood; parents, Bernard Allen and Myrtle (Hartley) Young; and her sisters, Ruth Crutchfield and Helen Poole.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Loraine and Garland Boatwright of Warner Robins, June Clark of Powder Springs and Noel Smith of Covington, Gay and Jim Nash of Covington; daughter-in-law, Peggie Allen; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Marshall Young, Allen Young; brother-in-law, Yates Crutchfield, all of Fort Valley, GA; several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Clark will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011, 4:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, from 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800.
