Mr. Edwin Lee Giles, 66, of Covington, passed away April 10. Mr. Giles attended First Presbyterian Church, in Covington. He was a friendly, caring man who never met anyone he didn’t call a friend.

He was an animal lover and enjoyed collecting many things, but especially toys. He was excellent at trivia and enjoyed learning the smallest details of how things worked.

If one word was used to describe Mr. Giles, it would be, "giver." He was a proud Republican who loved his country. Mr. Giles was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents Sam Lee and Idele (Lewis) Giles.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Janann Giles; daughters Robin Giles, Christina Giles; grandchildren Selina Giles, Emily Elizabeth Giles, Matthew Callahan, Brianna Martin; sister Reigh Heislop; numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mr. Giles will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the First Presbyterian Church, in Covington, with Rev. Dr. William B. Wade Jr., officiating.

The family will receive friends in the Martin Fellowship Hall, immediately following the service. Mr. Giles’ cremated remains will be scattered in the Memory Gardens at the church. To honor Mr. Giles, friends are asked to purposely and anonymously do a good deed for someone.
