Mrs. Eda “Edie” Hudgins, 72, of Conyers passed away Friday, March 8, 2019.  She was born in Oneida, New York Dec. 30, 1947 to Lawrence and Ruth Hatton who have preceded her in death.  Mrs. Hudgins was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She owned a book store called, The Bookshelf, for 26 years.  Edie had a great influence on many children that visited her book store throughout the years as they grew into adults.  She had a positive impact on everyone around her and was loved by many.  Mrs. Hudgins enjoyed fishing with her husband Bill, adored her four cats, and her little dog.  She loved attending Covington First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.  Mrs. Hudgins is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bill Hudgins; her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Adam Holcombe; granddaughter and joy of her life, Delaney Holcombe; sister, Emily Rankin, numerous nieces and nephews, along with many other close family and friends. 

Memorial services for Mrs. Hudgins will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 7 at the First United Methodist Church of Covington.  The family will receive friends at the church from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the literacy charity or animal charity of your choice or to the Covington FUMC Food Pantry.  J.C.
