Dr. Betty June Cottrell Hull

Dr. Betty June Cottrell Hull, 83, of Covington passed away on April 6.

Dr. Hull was born April 28, 1929 in Key West, Fla. She attended Key West High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University. After graduating from Florida State University, she began her teaching career. She was a lifelong learner who believed in the importance of a good education. She went on to earn her master’s degree in education from Emory University and her doctorate of education from

The University of Georgia. She was a beloved teacher and administrator for more than 20 years with the DeKalb County School System.

She is survived by her son Ken G. Hull; daughter Denise Enloe; grandchildren Nikki Enloe, Eric Enloe, Ben Hull, Luke Hull; brother and sister-in-law Steve and Donna Lowe; brother Lance Lowe; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will have an informal gathering and celebration of life at the residence of family friend Peggy Hawley, in Walnut Grove at 1 p.m. on May 11.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dr. Hull’s name to the Newton County Library System, 7116 Floyd Street, NE, Covington, GA 30014.
