Dorothy (Dot) Ann Roberts Silvio, previously of Grayson, GA, currently of Covington, passed away January 14, 2012.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Luke Silvio, her parents, Ida Roberts and Early Reed Roberts, grandson, Adam Silvio, two brothers, Willard Roberts and Harold Roberts, and a sister, Annalyn McDaniel.  Mrs. Silvio is survived by her son, Jerry Silvio (Kathy) of Covington, granddaughters, Sara Silvio of Decatur, Dinah Silvio of Raleigh, NC, and Ashley Sanders (Trey) of Covington; brother, Ronald Roberts of Buford; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dot Silvio loved being outdoors and had a green thumb that would outdo most.  For many years she had a vegetable garden and would take the fruits of her labor to the Dekalb County Cannery to provide the whole family with vegetable soup base to last the winter.  She loved to fish for trout in the streams of the North Georgia Mountains.  For many years she was a member of the Women’s Circle at Grayson United Methodist Church.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Silvio will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road in Covington.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service Wednesday, from 9:30 – 11:00 A.M.  Flowers are acceped or memorial donations may be made to Benton House Activities Fund, Memory of Dot Silvio, 7155 Dearing Road Covington GA 30014.
