Mr. Clayton Barnette, 73, of Conyers, passed away March 24, after a brief illness. He enjoyed fishing, yard work, gardening, his cats, dining out and the movies.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Helen Barnette; son Glenn Barnette; step-children William Shepherd Jr., Margaret Shepherd, and Phillip and Carole Shepherd; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. today, March 27, at Scot Ward’s Green Meadow Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Shepherd officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. before the service.
