Charles William Autry, age 79, of Social Circle, died on Jan. 29, 2018. He was born in Covington on Aug. 13, 1938 to the late Emma Town Autry, and the late Charlie H. Autry. He was preceded in death by his brother, the late Gerald Autry.

 He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Long Autry, of Social Circle; daughter and son in law, Debbie and Emory Banister, Sr.  of Jacksonville, Florida; sons and daughter in law, Jeff C. Autry, of Mansfield, Greg and Dawn Autry, of Mansfield; sister and brother in law, Jean and Donald Swords, of Snellville; sister in law, Nancy Autry, of Covington; grandchildren: Erin Banister, Emory Banister, Jr., Garrett Autry, Ramsey Autry, and Griffin Autry.

A funeral service was held on at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1 in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Elder Ronnie Loudermilk officiating. A graveside service led by brother Randell Allgood followed at Mt. Paran Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery

In Lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to the Mt. Paran Primitive Baptist Church Building Fund.
