Annie E. Strickland, 72 of Covington, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Abbey Hospice. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Annie enjoyed sewing, fishing and camping with her family. She loved going to Good-Will and Walmart and loved hummingbirds. Annie was a care giver to everyone and never met a stranger.

She was born in Cleveland, Georgia to the late Herbert and Lelea Carney Reece. In addition to her parents, Annie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Dewey Strickland, in 2015.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law James “Michael” and Renea Strickland of Oxford, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth Michelle and Scott Autry of Covington; brothers and sisters-in-law Harold and Billy Jo Reece and John and Gloria Reece, grandchildren Brittany Watson, J.R. Jacobs, Shelby Strickland and Taylor Strickland, and great-grandchild Blake Maddox Watson.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Bone officiating. Condolences may be made online at wheelerfuneralhome.com.
