Dry, cold weather this weekend will make way for wet, cold weather Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, which issued a hazardous weather outlook for Newton, Rockdale and surrounding counties some mixed winter precipitation is expected Monday and into Tuesday night.

As of Friday north Georgia is the main expected area with rain and/or snow possible.

Saturday and Sunday, the NWS predicts low wind chills.

Sunday weather for Covington is expected to be sunny high of 43 low of 28 degrees. Monday has an 80 percent chance of rain with a high of 43 and low of 33 degrees. Tuesday is also expected to bring rain, with a temperature as low as 28 degrees.
