A 29-year-old mother was arrested Saturday night after allegedly hitting her husband in the face with a wooden club at their Sterling Lakes home.

Police went to the home after receiving a 911 hang-up call. When they arrived, they met with the male victim who had a gash above his left eye and on his upper lip. When asked what happened, he reportedly pointed to the street and said, "she did it." Although officers didn't see anyone immediately, a short time later the victim's wife, Trang Thi Duong, pulled up in her vehicle. She told officers that the victim had called her, and she was coming to check on him and the children.

When officers spoke with the eldest child, a 9-year-old boy, he allegedly told them his parents were fighting and that he had walked out of his room at one point and saw his father standing in front of the front door and his mother standing with a "stick" in her hand, her arm pulled back as if she were about to hit the victim. He then ran back into his room.

Duong had a different story, according to reports. She said she had been away from the home all day and didn't know what happened. However, when officers walked with her to her vehicle in order to get her driver's license, they reportedly saw a wooden club on the passenger seat and blood on the back rest of the driver's seat. When asked once again what had happened, Duong reportedly said, "He said if I leave him, he will hurt himself."

After being arrested on charges of Family Violence Act aggravated assault and third degree cruelty to children, Duong allegedly said several times to officers, "Never let me out. I want to stay in jail for the rest of my life."

She later told officers, according to reports, that her husband had a drinking problem and "liked to start arguments." She said that she told him she was leaving and could not take his drinking any longer, and he didn't want her to leave so she, "hit him with the stick."

Several hours later authorities were able to speak with the victim. He reportedly told them a story much like his wife's. He said the two had been drinking, and she wanted to leave, but he didn't want her to go since she had been drinking as well and also because he wanted her to take care of the children. When she insisted on leaving, he said he stood in her way which is when she struck him with the club.

He received stitches above his eye and upper lip.
