We Ride to Provide set for Saturday

Do you ride a motorcycle, like police dogs, or just want to show your support? Then head on down to Porterdale Saturday morning to hang out with Hogs and dogs at the fifth annual We Ride to Provide K9 Memorial Ride.

Twenty-two police dogs passed away in 2012, and a memorial ceremony will pay tribute to all of them, regardless of their manner of death. K9 officers’ handlers are expected to be on hand, as well as some current K9 officers that serve Newton County.

Registration for riders begins at 8 a.m. and the memorial ceremony starts at 10 a.m., with kickstands going up for the 59.7 mile country road ride around 10:45 a.m. There’s no set cost to ride, but donations are always accepted, and the proceeds go toward equipment and training for Georgia K9 teams.
