An assistant manager for Walmart was arrested Wednesday morning on charges that he stole thousands worth of electronics and cash from the store during the month of March.
Danny Ernest Spence was charged with four counts of theft by taking. When police arrived he had already reportedly spoken with loss prevention associates at the store and admitted to stealing $4,000 in cash from the accounting office and almost $9,000 worth of electronic merchandise (iPods, laptops and iPads among other items). The thefts were caught on tape, according to reports.
Spence provided authorities with a written statement in which he wrote he was "sorry for doing this to the manager, and that he has a program with drugs."
