Two Conyers men were arrested last week in connection to a string of burglaries spanning two counties over the last two months.
Authorities arrested Diante Reynolds, 39, of 1396 Fall River Dr., and Randy Brown, 29, of 1220 Bracknell Ct., on Feb. 13 for allegedly burglarizing or attempting to burglarize at least five local residences between Dec. 23 and Feb. 5. The two are also facing at least two burglary charges in Newton County.
According to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Department, Reynolds and Brown allegedly entered a Jimson Circle residence by kicking in the back door while the homeowners were out of town for the holidays. Upon returning on Dec. 27, the owners found jewelry and a phone were taken, though electronics were left by the burglars. The two are also suspected of kicking in a door at a Hillside Pl. residence on Jan. 2 but nothing was reported stolen. The next day the suspects allegedly entered a back window of a Blackberry Ln. residence, where neighbors reported seeing two men flee with a flat screen TV.
The final burglary Reynolds and Brown are suspected in occurred Feb. 5 at a Cainwood Ct. residence, where the homeowner reported hearing her doorbell ring before the two suspects allegedly kicked in her back door. That attempt was thwarted when the female homeowner confronted the two men, who then fled in a silver Honda Accord.
However, watchful neighbors at several of the burglary sites gave descriptions of a vehicle matching a 2012 Chevmrolet Malibu registered to Reynolds.
Both men are facing three counts of burglary and Reynolds also faces two charges of criminal trespass.
