The Oaks ramps up for the Masters

The Oaks course is bustling with activity as the Masters fast approaches. It's been seasonably warm as spring has arrived and summer fast approaches. Perhaps that's why the greens over at The Oaks course are already, well, green. They're normally playable throughout the year but with the warm weather, the course is in near mid-season form already.

It's perfect timing as the Masters always brings with it plenty of out of town guests. From April 2-10, The Oaks is offering several daily golf packages. For $95 dollars, players can golf all day. Included in the package is range balls, lunch at Putters restraint, a gift package which includes logo hat, repair tool and tees and one cart fee only pass (green fees still apply) for a later date. Package No. 2 is the same as the top package minus the gift package and lunch. A regular round will be $49.

In addition to the golf packages, The Oaks is holding a Final Round Party event. For $60 per player, two-man (woman) teams can compete in an 18-hole best ball tournament. Teams will be randomly matched with a pro (scores) from the Masters final round and the aggregate score will win. Players will be flighted based on handicap with an eight stroke maximum.

The Oaks is also having a bevy of events on a full calendar for locals to play in.

On deck is the Family Day at The Oaks outing today. A family of four can play nine holes Sunday for $50.

Later in the month, the Get Golf Ready in Five Days for ladies program kicks off. Head golf pro Andy Bowman and course owner and general manager Dick Shulz have been busy building The Oaks instructional side of operations. The Get Golf Ready program is a five day instructional course which teaches the fundamentals of gold. The cost is $99.

The Get Golf Ready program for women begins April 11. Each installment is an hour long and meets each Monday thereafter.

Information on any program or scheduled events can be found online at www.golfoaks.com or by calling the pro shop at 770-786-3801.
