The faces of Chimney Park
Placeholder Image

There are two new reasons to visit Chimney Park located behind the Newton County Library, 7116 Floyd Street, in Covington. Chainsaw artist Ben Eidson of Shady Dale turned his chainsaw loose on the massive trunk of an oak that fell during the spring storms and created an interesting bench with three seating areas, perfect for a peaceful afternoon's rest. Then he turned his attention to creating a mystical face of a wood nymph in the trunk of a dead tree near the storytelling area.

Pictured here are artist Ben Eidson and from left, Hannah and Brooke Willis, who regularly attend the two festivals the park hosts each year, the Fairy House Festival in May and Twilights at Chimney Park in December.
