The Cheerios Challenge

Ready, set, run: Hundreds of runners of all ages took part Saturday in the 10th annual Cheerios Challenge in Covington. The event featured 10-K and 5-K races and a 1-mile fun run. There were record-breaking winners in the 5-K race: Janet Cherobon-Bangom, 32, who came in at 17:15, and the male overall winner, 27-year-old Robert Letting, who came in at 14:48. Both are from Rome.

 The overall winner for the male 10-K was Brent Fields at 34:58 and the overall masters winner for the male 10-K (ages 40 and up) was Tim Locke at 38:10. The 10-K female winner overall was 21-year-old Jennifer Mobley and the overall masters female winner was 47-year-old Julie Redmon with 47:55. The overall 1-mile Fun Run winner boy was 9-year-old Jordan Beam and the overall girl winner was Adoris Gibbs, 11.
