Teens charged with arson

Two teens have been charged with arson after reportedly setting a wooded area afire across from Challenge Charter Academy on Wednesday.

 

The teens, ages 13 and 14, reportedly set the fire during physical education classes. According to Covington Fire Department Capt. Tony Smith, the boys took combustible materials from the school with the intention of setting it on fire in the woods.

The boys were turned over to juvenile authorities. They were charged with arson and engaging in activities related to the use of fires and ignited objects.
