Teens arrested for cell phone robberies

Conyers Police arrested three teen suspects in connection with a cell phone robbery of a Walmart customer along with a cell phone theft at the nearby apartment buildings.

On Saturday, Dec. 14 just after 11:30 p.m. officers responded to Walmart on the report of a forceful robbery of a cell phone. The victim was about to enter Walmart when he crossed paths with three males. One of the males, later identified as 18-year-old Jermaine Lamont McLemore, shoved the victim and demanded his cell phone. The victim was pushed into a second suspect, a juvenile described as having dyed blond hair, who also assaulted the victim. McLemore punched the victim in the head and fled with the victim's cell phone and the other two suspects.

Later that night, Conyers Police responded to a report of a theft at Century Lakeside. The victim described a young male known to the family with dyed blond hair was allowed in the apartment then stole a cell phone. Through interviews, investigators were able to determine the identity of two other suspects that were with the 16-year-old juvenile at the movies that night, Jermaine Lamont McLemore, and Aquele Crawelle, 18. The three left the movie theater to purchase snacks at Walmart where McLemore and the juvenile committed the robbery. Crawelle also had possession of the cell phone stolen from the Century Lakeside apartment.

McLemore, a Covington resident, was charged with robbery and aggravated assault.

The 16-year-old male juvenile, from Decatur, was was charged with Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Theft By Taking, Terroristic Threats.

Crawelle, also a Covington resident, was charged with Theft by Receiving.
