A 19-year-old Covington teen remains in the Newton County Jail after he allegedly raped a 3-year-old girl early Saturday morning. According to 1st Lt. Mark Mitchell, Public Information Officer with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were initially called to a home on Shenandoah Drive about a runaway juvenile, but when they arrived and began to investigate, they found there was more to the story. The little girl and her mother were at the home of Brandon Arnold, 19, who is an acquaintance.
