Teen accused of Friday shooting charged with murder

The juvenile accused of the shooting death of 19-year-old Quintavian Vanard Johnson Friday night, has been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The alleged shooter is a 16-year-old Eastside High School student, and is currently being held at a juvenile detention center. It is unclear if the teen will be charged as an adult. A hearing will be held for a judge to determine if the teen will face charges as an adult or as a juvenile.

Detectives with the Covington Police are still working to try and determine the motive for the shooting. According to witnesses, the teens were arguing prior to the shooting.
