Social Circle to hold annual tree lighting on Dec. 3

Social Circle will hold its annual tree lighting at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 3 on the lawn of city hall.

The city's community church choirs and local talent will be performing at the event, entitled "Christmas Through a Child's Eyes."

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in attendance to hear Christmas wishes and children will be treated to a hay ride through town to look at Christmas decorations. The fire department will be helping children roast marshmallows.

The Boy Scouts and JROTC will be selling food as a fundraiser for their respective groups, and children are invited to make ornaments and cards for the troops.
