Social Circle budget set for increase

Social Circle's budget will increase this year for the first time in several years, going from $2.8 to $3 million.

According to City Manager Doug White, revenues are growing stronger this year and there is an increase in Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax funds projected. The increase will allow the city to purchase three new public safety vehicles.
The increase to $3 million is still less than years past, when the city's budget was at $3.3 million.
