A Newton County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle rolled into a parked car Sunday morning after an officer stepped out of the vehicle without properly putting it in park.

After the officer exited the vehicle, it rolled forward approximately 25 feet before hitting the parked car, according to the Department of Public Safety Public Information Office.

The impacted vehicle was rented by 20th Century Fox Film Corporation, according to the NCSO incident report. The red 1999 Ford F150 was left with a “small dent on [the] rear, right panel on the bed of the pickup truck,” according to the report.

No damage was reported on the NCSO 2011 Ford Crown Victoria.

The NCSO officer was issued a traffic warning by the Georgia State Patrol, which responded and processed the accident, according to DPS.
