Secret Boy Scout records released recently show that a scout leader currently serving a sentence for aggravated child molestation in Cobb County was found in a Newton County motel in 1973 with a teenager.

According to the Independent Mail in Anderson, S.C., Michael Barrett, now 60, was accused of luring three teenagers from the Bert Adams Scout Reservation to the hotel where he was found in bed with one of the teens by Newton County Sheriff's Deputies. He pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor in that case and spent a year in jail.

Barrett has been in prison since 2010 when he pleaded guilty to aggravated child molestation in an unrelated Cobb County case. He also spent four years in prison in the 80s for sex offenses against children, according to the Independent Mail's story.
