The Covington Elks Lodge recently held a Santa Claus party for area special-needs children. A snack buffet was provided, and each child took home several gifts. Also included were a visit from Santa; "Twas the "Night before Christmas" told by Elk Reed Blakeney and Elkadette Mikey Wagy, and fun Christmas music provided by local Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame entertainer Anita Denny. The Covington Elks Lodge also hosts several dance events during the year for older special-needs youths and encourages participation of neighboring counties.
