The wet weather didn’t dampen spirits for an early morning run to benefit the Covington YMCA Saturday. Racers participated in a 10K, 5K, 1-mile fun run and Trix Tot Trot during the 14th Annual Cheerios Challenge. The event is held annually for people in the community to get out and come together, and be active during the spring time, and it also helps raise funds for YMCA’s Why It Matters annual fundraising camping. The campaign is used to help families participate in Y programs that otherwise might not be able to afford it.
